    The first television programme to investigate the harmful effects of Low Level Radiationon the population of Cumbria from the Windscale (now Sellafield) plant and from other Nuclear installations in the UK. Professor Radford of US Regulatory Committee flies in for the programme, with Professor Alice Stewart. The programme pioneers the first National BBC Local Radio/TV debate. The Windscale debate is transmitted live from Parliament. Following the programme the National Radiological Protection Board issues new guidelines for permitted doses of Radiation to the population of the UK

     

    IT SHOULDN’T HAPPEN TO A PIG

    An investigation into the the techniques employed in factory farming, and the misuse of drugs to promote growth. The film revealed a massive black market in the illegal sale of these drugs to farmers. Public inquiry followed and new legislation was passed.
